Hi Guys,
Was wondering if anyone has used station wagon springs to get the rear end of a 67 up a little higher-- a friend did that long ago. Maybe there are aftermarket rear HD coils available? thanks in advance Jim
Yes the springs are stiffer (higher spring rate), but not exactly common. You can find and down load the Moog catalog for suspension parts and compare the rates for various springs. You want one with more free height at about the same spring rate to raise the car.
I did this on a Chevelle one time, I used the wagon chevelle springs. It gave me the rake I was looking for, but really made my 2 door Chevelle the worst driver... I used Edelbrock arms under it and everything to try to get the ride back....never did....I sold the car eventually, and the new owner asked if he could have the old springs...lol
