Another Ralleye Wheel Question

My 70 is in desperate need of new shoes and the crap wheels that came with it have got to go. I am currently rebuilding the front end I have bought mostly stock replacement parts except for a Helwig sway bar, Poly bushings and Global West coil springs which drop the front 1".

This 69 SS is my inspiration. To me it appears as if he is running 15x8 Front and Rear and I have no idea about the size tire that is mounted.

I have read a lot of the older Impalas running 15x8 f&r with no problems. But I have read that the 70 with factory disks need the have narrower front wheels to deal with the spindles being pushed out farther than a drum front end. Anyone been able to fit 15x8 on the front of a 70? Would a 255/60/15 front & rear be feasible? Would nice to be able to rotate the tires on all 4 corners.

Here is some information I mined off the web about rally heels (includes the newer six square holes, and the five spoke steel SS wheel.

Kelsey-Hayes factory rally wheels codes

Plant Codes:
"1" is Romulus, Michigan,
"2" is Windsor, Ontario, and
"3" is Philadelphia, PA.

Kelsey-Hayes date codes are one or two numerals for year followed by two numerals for the month. The day of the week it was made is stamped next to the valve stem hole.

The "K", "J", "JJ", and "JK" stamped on the rim following the wheel size are unrelated to the brake system fitment - that's determined by the contour of the spider, not the rim.

The letter stamped as the suffix of the wheel size is the SAE code for the drop-center contour of the rim cross-section, including the presence/location of the tire bead safety rib(s).

The DOT mandated that from Jan '68 on, the mfg date and app code must be stamped in the valve core area. Prior to that only the app code appeared in the valve core area, and was stamped to the right of the hole when the hole was placed at the 12 o'clock position. The dates were stamped between the beads visible only with the tire removed.
