68 Impala SS conv. Rotisserie Restoration

We are in the begining process of restoring a 68 Impala SS conv. This is a one owner car! The original body/frame was too bad to repair. So, we are using another car. Owner has also decided to add factory a/c. So, we have bought yet another car. We are not using this website to promote our business. I am restoring the same but in my driveway/garage, so I'll be checking in on you guys for ideas etc...

Glad to hear. We will be sandblasting the frame/body this week. Keep looking back for updates. Hope to have painted by the summer.

I'm curious if you are restoring another car why keep the original frame? Odds are if the body is eaten up with rust the frame is as well. I would just restore the second car to look like the first with interior and options to match the original as most have a sentimental attachment to the car not the VIN plate.

You are correct. The original car's frame was very rusted and replaced years before with a 67 frame. As you know, the 67 & 68 are not the same. So, we are using the frame that came with the new car.

We just sandblasted the body shell and frame yesterday. We sprayed the frame with Rust Defender (high build polyester). We will be posting updates on our web page www.tlcrestorations.com Check it out. Thanks,Rip
