I own a '68 Impala, my question is how do I go about increasing the air volume or blower speed? It seems to me it's just not blowing hard enough. Do I have to remove the present blower motorand take it to modified? Thank you for any suggestions.

Blower speed is a function of voltage to the motor. Check the leads to see that you are getting 12-13 volts to the motor on high setting. If bushings are worn in the blower it will draw more current than designed but it will turn as fast as the voltage setting will allow (up until it pops a fuse).

as big dave sudgested check you have 12 volts at the motor on high,
if the motor is noisy or if it's drawing more than about 25 amps it's probably worn out,
but they're pretty cheap to rebuild
check the ducting is all there and not falling to bits !
check that all the vacume actuators are opening and closing correctly ?
the fan could be blowing hard against a closed "blend door" giving you next to no air flow out the vents
if the motor doesn't work on all 3 or 4 speeds, it's a burned out resistor
or 2
