My upholstery looks great! Except for a 2-3" tear on the drivers side under the steering wheel (where my leg rubs the seat when squeezing my leg under the wheel when getting in. Wished I had tilt wheel). Anyway, I tried to sew it but the thread pull threw the material at the seam.
How do I fix this before it gets worse???

It is a tear and you can never really fix it.
I would just take it to an Upholstery shop and have them look at it.
They would know they best way to fix it.

If it is at the seem, most of the time I take the cover off and take it up to get into a stronger part of the materal. But if it is not at the seem, you will have to replace the panel that is tearing.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I will take to a local shop and have them look at it. I can have them look at recovering my padded dash too. Thanks,
