According to the interchange manual, they are two different parts, but why?

Some ebay guys are selling 60/61 hoods, and the only difference I can see is the actual appearance of the hood...the 60 has two crown lines, right and left of center, while the 61 seems to have two raised rectangle outlines, one each side of center.

The hood on my 60 needs help...seems a really large dent was filled with about 3/8 inch of mud, that is now cracking. Its a driver / hot rod, so originality isn't an issue...I just need a hood.

AFN fiberglass makes a 59 and a 61 hood...I'm hoping one of these will fit my car.

Altho I have never place a '60 Hood on a '61 or the other way around, they are 2 very different hoods. I would say that even the widths and lengths are different.
