It's funny as I think just the opposite. I see it as a survivor. Someone has always kept this car away from the crusher. It does look restorable, but if it's not, it will be a great parts car to keep other ones out there running and preserved.

What's sad is all the ones that got crushed. It's just that they're not around anymore for us to be reminded of it.

You guys had best not read the post on Team Camaro about the 600 cars being crushed in Mississipppi. Most of them were Impala's, Caprices, and Biscaynes. The Camaro guys were crying because they crushed three first gen Camaros.

have seen cars a lot cleaner than that go to scrap at the new Albuquerque U Pull It Yard - Probably 8-10 (65-70) bodies, lots of parts friggen waste.

Fitzgerald's Salvage
17115 Fitzgeralds Rd.
Lincoln DE 19960

Cool place to check out. They dont get all crazy on the prices like alot of the salvage yards. Ive walked out of there with a boat load of good stuff and ended up paying like 20 bucks.

I'm in DE also. In bear.
I have a 64 ss hardtop (not origional engine, but it's definatly street worthy) and a 64 ss convertable ( going to start a frame off on this one next year, all origional #'s matching)

e-mail me if anyone local is going to any car events, i'd like to check some cars out

does that salvage yard let you in the yard?

Yeah its u-pick and pull. And it's not their main source of income so their prices are cheap.

paintohn1,
I saw a pretty complete 63 2 door at the junk yard in Wilm, DE last week
Minus the engine it had mostly everything else
I think it was at Caspers.

Yea, it's sad...but the more they crush, the more we should feel proud to still have one, or more. But I definately hear you on the wasted parts!

THESE yards are in DELAWARE???

I had no idea! That's only about an hour away from me - and heck yes! I'd TOTALLY save that '65! It doesn't look too far gone, to me!

Its getting harder and harder to find yards that let you in to pick parts.. and the one's up by me (Philadelphia suburbs) either (a) have nothing but post-80's junk, or (b) charge you a 'fee' to get in - and then have nothing useful. Wow... I'm gonna have to check them out. At least I have an idea where I might find a good small-block for my '63 Impala! Thanks, guys!

Yeah that car looks totally restorable, even if the frame was scewed was it would still be worth restoring, have we all forgotten what skim's car looked like be for he saved it? I just wish there were boneyards like that by me, all the ones around here are loaded with 80's-90's beaters, nothing even close to what somone would call a classic. Speaking of salvage yards, does anyone remember an old guy out in nebraska that had rows and rows of 50's 60s and 70's cars? Is that place even still around? I remember my dad found that guy out of hemmings 10 years ago nd he had some cherry cars, I mean this place was crazy awesome, he had a section full of just 61's, I could have spend the rest of my life there haha
