My '64 came with a 2-speed powerglide but has since been changed to a Turbo 350. The indicator lens on the steering column was for the PG and I bought a new lens for the 350 (PNDL1L2). But the pointer still doesn't line up right. When it's in Drive the pointer shows Neutral etc. Is there a way to adjust the shifter or steering column or another way to correct this???

I saw a post on here about fixing that, try doing a search. If it wasn't here, it was on www.348-409.com

I ain't having any luck finding the post. I found the 'neutral safety switch' adjustment but not the indicator lens/shift lever adjustment.

I have never done this before but I think you will need to remove the shifter linkage at the tranny, Then put the selector in park and the tranny in park to see if you need to lengthen or shorten the linkage.

Most shift indicators are mounted on a string. All you have to do is remove the lens grab the indicator and slide it to where you want it. Dont know if this will be correct for all gears with a different selector in place.

Sounds easy enough! I'll give it a try. Thanks Bobcat:thumbsup:

I just looked at 1 of my automatic steering columns and the indicator pointer is part of the collar and can be moved. The actual pointer is a little piece of thin that is pushed into a hole. I'm not explaining this very well so I will take some pic's for you it might be clearer.
