I have purchased a 3x2 intake and also found 3 2gc carbs.I know that there are conversion kits available but in these times of low funds would like to convert the 2 end carbs myself.I know to eliminate all the choke parts and as far as the bases go to plug all vac ports and elimated idle mixture.what other mods do I need to make internal.also what jets would you recomend.plan to build a 348 stroked to 427.will also runs an aggresive cam that will be barlly streetable.car will have a t56.if anyone has a link to an article that would be great

I will have to research that, but from memory there was a progresive (cam actuated not a rods and stops) that opened the end barrells at about 2/3 of the center opening. I would look on the Poncho boards as well as Pontiac ran the same linkage and carbs on the 389 Tin Indian. If the original parts are not available; I vaugly remember an article in Hot Rod (or Car Craft, or Cars High Performance) back in 1964-'65 or so about tuning the three two's with a card board template of the piece needed to bolt onto the center carb throttle lever I will have to pull them all out and reread them to find it if it ever existed.

thanks dave.have found a progressive linkage system that works as you stated.on the inside I belive that I have to block the power valve off for the end carbs.watched an episode of gears that did the conversion but they were pushing buying the kit from a sponsor.they did not get into muck detail other than to follow the instructions.I'm sure with the talant on this site we con figure out a more cost effective way
