on my 64 impala i had install a new ignition cylinder and i put the key in a couple of times now it seems like i have my switch in lock mode how can i unlock it because when i had the key in there it doesnt do anything

That is not good. The only way I know to get the cylinder back out is to have the key working so you can turn the cylinder to the run position. If that is the case, and we assume the new key is good for the new cylinder, then you must have a sticking pin or wafer (don't recall which kind it uses) in the cylinder. Try jiggling the key around or some lubricant designed for locks. | |
