I have a 65 impala ss with a 283. After driving home from a car show last week I parked it in the garage. When I went to go restart it a couple days later I got no response. This has happened before a couple of times but it always managed to start after checking connections under the hood, I don't know what I did to make it start or if it was just dum luck. This time it won't start no matter what I do. The lights won't come on either. The battery is connected and fully charged, I replaced the ignition lock cylinder because the original had alot of play in it and still no response. I have power at the starter solenoid. I'm not that good at electrical issues, so I don't know what could cause this and where I should start troubleshooting. Please Help. Thanks

You have an open circuit caused by a bad connection or a broken cable. You will need an Multimeter to check out the circuit as you can not see electricity. By using the Ohm meter portion of the meter you can check out the wiring and connections.

does it matter what setting my Ohm meter is on? I have 20m, 2000k, 20k, 2000, and 200 setting on my meter.

I found a 10 amp fusible link between the firewall and distributer that was not connected, after that i got lights, still no ignition, then i noticed the bat. connection on the ignition switch was disconnected, after that I was back in business. Not sure what the purpose of the 10amp fuse was for.
