My 66 sport coupe has a split bench seat (cloth) and I can only seem to find vinyl seat covers, and all seem to be for a non-split bench seat. Can anyone tell me if this may be from a different year car or what else may work/where to look? Thanks
The only bucket seat covers for same year are vinyl too, were there no cloth/vinyl bucket seats in 66?
Thanks for any info

There were lots of cloth - vinyl seats available in 1965 and 1966. Most SS and convertible models had vinyl interiors and are the most popular. Your seat covers are available through the venders on this web site, Or try
Assuming your car still has the original seats it.

If you will post a picture, we will identify your seat. My instinct tells me it has been swapped.

Is there and arm rest in the middle. If so I believe those are the strato bench option if not then its the standard bench like I have. Mine have cloth on the seat area and back where you sit and are trimmed on the sides and rear in vinyl. A while ago I purchased the orginal cloth as they were in good shape but someone went around a corner too fast with the groceries sitting on the seat and a bottle of bleach spilled on the fabric. I was able to have the fabric sewn by an auto upholstry place which made them look like new again. You didn't say whether it was a Impala or Caprice. I believe they are slightly differnt. You should be able to get them from here.
My split bench 60/40 with arm rests came out of a Buick Electra. Swapped it myself so I know which car it was out of. I'm not familar with that option from Chevy. The stuff out of the other marquees is a direct bolt in if you ever need an upgrade path, Though a Caddy powered everything interior in mahogany and birch won't win any points if your trying to show it as a restoration.

I took the seat cover off once since getting the car (original fabric/vinyl is pretty trashed and it matches the back seats perfect so I assume original), but I don't remember a fold down arm rest. I spoke with customer service from one of the sites posted above (thanks for that) and their tech dept says " if it is a coupe it came with split bench. If its a 4 door, it would have standard bench." Thinking about it, this would make sence since you would need access to the rear seat in a coupe.
I picked up a parts car w/ buckets needing restoration. I have been looking for fabric seat covers and still no luck locating these to match the rear seats. I'd like for them to match, and vinyl seems to be the only option. ???????

No, not necessarily. If you want to put buckets in it, but have the front trimmed in fabric, you can buy the bulk fabric from one of the suppliers (see above) that are available and any reputable auto interior shop can do the work for you to match. It'll look cool, and be worth the expense in the end.

Is it safe to assume there is no factory/off the shelf option for cloth inserts for buckets? All buckets were Vinyl? I may just re-do the split bench and sell the seat frames- they are pretty rough. Bench seat - floor shift, it's still cool.
Thanks to all who like this stuff as much as I do.

The 1966 Caprice had the front bench seat when you put the armrest down it looked like 2 bucket seats. That also would make you a good upgrade. Only problem is I don't think anyone makes covers for them.

Here is a picture of mine in a 2 door coupe so it is a split bench as you call it. Really it was just the standard bench you got in the Caprice. Like I said there was an option for the Strato bench like Dadtoy said which had the arm rest and looked more like buckets even had a head rest.
