does anyone know a good price to start in the event I sell this 65 SS convertible. a quick description is: frame off resto, powdercoated frame and components, everything new stock parts, 283 pwrgld trans. Q-jet 4bl added on a gm iron intake 336 nonposi rear, buckets, gages, console black pwr top, grill is ok needs bumpers replated and trunk panel chrome.not far from being a legitimate show winner- supernice bodywork and paint,, And like I say code P paint(evening orchid) is what made me fall in love with this car, anybody with some knowledge about any significance of this paint code is what i've been trying to verify for 3 or 4 years now I am not up on impalas enough yet. Thanks very much

I would say it adds value but it's just my opinion. (I love that color too) That color is rare and was only made for 1965. The fact that you have an SS convertible isn't going to hurt value wise either!

I won't get into prices as they are all over the place. If I was looking to sell a car and get the most bucks I could, I'd sell it on ebay. (but I never sell, I just buy!) LOL

I don't believe that that color will enhance the value of your car. JMHO

There might just be somebody out there that loves it but as a rule, people looking for these cars steer clear of exotic colors. My '65 is crocus yellow, I love it but most buyers want something with a little more "pop".

I've heard that Evening Orchid and Glacier Grey are the two rarest colors. I had a P code Evening Orchid wagon at one time.

My mom used to have an Evening Orchid 4 Dr HT with black cloth interior back in 1965. 283 PG they bought in 1966 from Avis out of St Pete airport. They traded it again 1968 for a brand new Caprice.

I would put it on e-bay with a reserve of your lowest price. It can only go up from there and don't sell early let the auction complete most people bid the last 20 to 10 sec. JMHO

In the pontiac world that color is iris mist and it certainly does add value to the car. I have a 65 Cat convert iris mist with black top and interior. It should add at least $1000 to 2000 more than the same car any other color.
Fist one I saw was a 65 Impala SS hardtop with white interior brand new. I drooled all over that car.

Choppertrash85139,I know I'm a lot late to reply to this post, but,I know someone who badly wants to see a 65 convertible with the evening orchid paint.
If you have a picture, could you post it here or send it to me?
I'm on another site called "Chevy Talk",this is where this other person is also.
I told him I have a picture of the same color car but have been un-able to find it,so maybe you could help me out?
Btw,my 65 Caprice was evening orchid with black vinyl top, black interior, but is now cobalt blue.
My 57 hardtop is "Dusk Pearl",which is the same color.
Thanks,Mike.:)
