Hey, B.A. ~ I was checkin' out your pictures after you told me that you picked up that one '66 in my area of the country - the pics look familiar! What city were you in, do you remember?

I personally don't think there's anything prettier on wheels than a '66 Convertible.. one of my all-time favorites!!

    Thanks Darrin, appreciate the compliments.

The good news is that Yes, I did use that basic normal Gunk Engine Bright and then tried to hose it off. I tried both foamy and the old kind, and another brand. i didn't notice much of a difference between them but the foamy sure *seems* like a good idea.
Here's the down-side......I had soooo much caked on oil on this thing that I had to use a 1" putty knife in some areas. Then, I just went ahead and grabbed a brush and some kerosene and made the block super clean. I keep kerosene around all the time to clean old grease/oily parts. If I would have realized that I'd be using the kerosene, I could have bypassed the Gunk Engine Bright.

    Hello, how is it going?

Hey, I was reading your blog about getting the motor out and was wondering which type of degreaser that you used on the motor? That finished motor looks great!! Was it basically something like "Gunk Engine Bright" that you used on it? I was wondering about something like that for my '64 to just clean it up some for now and see how it looks (without removing the engine though, well, not yet anyway).

That is one awesome pair of vehicles that you have!

    Later,
    Darrin
