Default 66 Impala full wiring harnesses.

Front to back, big block 396, power convertible top, 4 spd.

I performed a search, and didn't see it.

Anybody have any recs. for a whole new package specific to my application?

Thanks in advance. I've been learning a lot here.

Best wishes,

Steve

They dont sell complete packages because the harnesses are specific to each car. There are 5 separate harnesses: front light, engine, dash, rear body, and tail lamp. In your case you also need a power top harness. It also depends if you have guages, console, auto or manual trans, 6 or 8 cyl. etc, because each is different.
I buy mine thru Classic Ind, or Year One. American Autowire Inc is one of the manufacturers. They are well worth the money because they are EXACT repros down to the wire colors, connectors and even the hold-down clips. Don S

Your other option is a universal kit. They are same color code as factory wire looms but the there is no connector crimped on one end. All connectors are provided but you trim the wire to fit. American Wire or Painless sell these kits and they are sized by the number of circuits you need (count fuses in the fuse box and add two at least spares).

Problem with all universal kits is that they universally do not fit anything and have to be modified to fit your application. If you know how you can save money with a universal kit; but if circuits are intimidating go for a reproduction replacement kit.

Steve,
For your car the way to go is Factory Fit by American Auto Wire

http://www.americanautowire.com/

These are truly plug-and-play, they have the original GM tooling. You will be VERY happy with thier product and it will save you countless hours of crimping and splicing.

Amen to what Craig is telling you. You can buy direct from them or it is the product that most of the restoration houses sell.

Brett,
LIke I said above, AAW does offer an upgrade kit with the new style fuses but their "Factory Fit" product line is correct for your car with the correct orginal style fuze box, wires, and connectors.

Call them @ 1-800-482-WIRE (9473)

Or just take a look at thier catalog.

You must have been talking about the "Classic Update" product line.

Order the "Factory Fit" wiring for your car.
You will be happy with the product.

What number did you call and who did you talk to? They do not have that many employees and I can't imaging that any of them could not get you to the correct solution.
