1968 350 with 350 turbo

the engine had a powerglide with 153 tooth flex plate, can i install a 168 flex plate for my 350 turbo, what changes do i need to make or can i keep the 153 with the turbo 350, thanks in advance, also where can i get the bracket for the 350 turbo kick down cable, the engine has a 2brl.

If you change the flex plate you will have to change the starter motor as well as they are different. Also the TH400 flexplate (the 168 tooth flexplate) has a slightly different bolt pattern, but it can be opened up with a drill bit. The real problem is in the balance. Were did the flexplate come from? The most common use would be off the back of a 454 which is externally balanced. You can not just bolt a 454 flex-plate onto your car as it will vibrate and pound out the bearings.
