4 Speed Question on my 66

The pattern on the console says that reverse is left of first gear UP.
My Transmission is Down and left of second? Does this mean it is most likely not the stock trans? or is there another explaination?

This is obviously not the correct pattern for Muncie or Saginaw. (same)

BUT....if the reverse lever is installed 180 degrees out of alignment you will have an opposite shift direction. Rod attaching to lever should be on top of transmission pivot.

My money is on that.

I agree with tom, I would assume, whoever installed the "hurst" shifter put the reverse linkage in upside down, even super T10s have the same pattern, should be an easy fix.
