Tranny Fluid at Idle

Greetings Fellow Impalagins!

Pardon my ignorance, though I think I know the answer, I just wanted some confirmation from those of you who are more knowledgeable than I.

When I run my '63 every couple of weeks during nasty winter weather while it's parked in the garage, with garage door fully opened of course, as the car sits at idle with the engine oil warming up for at least 15 minutes, does the transmission fluid get warmed up as well and pumped through the tranny while in the Park position? My car has the 2 speed Powerglide trans. Engine size is 283 V8.

Thanks for your advice!

Yes the front pump is turning with the engine pumping fluid through the radiator cooler where it picks up heat instead of shedding it. The heat that is generated by the tranny comes out of the torque converter; but since it isn't driving anything, it isn't generating heat through shearing the fluid inside the torque converter. It is acting like a fan in a room, pumping air, but without something to stop the air movement it isn't heating the air up.
