8.2 Chevy Ring and Pinion Part #

Hi, i'm currently sourcing used Chevy 3.36 and 3.42 ring and pinion sets for the second generation 8.2 10 bolt
I have numbers for the 3.36 mfg in 1965
3832407 for the pinion
3790628 for the ring gear.
Did this number change over the years or did stay static
until the advent of the 8.5 in late 1970?

Would anyone have part numbers for the 3.42 ring and pinion? Same years 65 to 1970
I'd like to have the part numbers correct and handy when I go looking for these parts...

Part numbers never stay static. Every ECO (Engineering Change Order) creates a new part number because the engineers changed the part in some way. The assembly manual tracks old part numbers at the time the manual was published (I have seen six different numbers for a very similar part; as they did change something).

You can buy gears for a Spicer eight point two ten bolt new from many gear grinders (Richmond Gear, Yukon, American Gear to name a few). I would much prefer a new gear even though they are no longer lapped in the way the factory did it; over a used gear. It is a royal pain, and often just shear luck to set up a used gear without getting a howler due to the fact that they never wear the same.
