rear control arms

Hi , another question... My impala only has 1 upper rear control arm and Im wondering if I should be putting on a second one while the chassis is bare. Car runs BB454 t400 and 9" rear end? Or is it not necessary. Dont know why they didnt put 2 on all models ??

Factory chose 250 horse power as the cut off for a single upper control arm. Anything over 250 horse usually got two (there are always exceptions to every rule).

If your not drag racing though do you REALLY need that other control arm though? I would think an upgraded unit from UMI might work fine but while it's apart if you want to do it now would be the time

Thanks for the interest

We offer both the upper control arms and rear mounting bracket if you decided to add the extra arm. The only thing you need to do is make a bracket for the rear end.

I posted a few links below depending on the year.

Upper control arms:

Mounting Brackets:

We also have them for the 59-64. If you have any questions please ask. Thank you!
