1970 Custom Coupe - Help Needed!

Hi all,

I am here because I need some input/advice from the experts.

I have found a car I'm thinking about buying as a project. It is a 1970 Custom Coupe. Factory 350. 97,XXXmiles. Body is straight - pretty much dent free. Southern car so very little rust. One hole in the back floorboard and one hole in the trunk floor. Running when they parked it but needs a flywheel (someone didn't shim the starter correctly.) Certainly not a show car but seems to be a pretty good base to put some love into.

As of right now asking price is 3k. I know it's hard without pics or anything but is that in the ballpark? I thought it seems about right but not sure if that is worth it for the condition or if there was any money to be made there.

Thank you so much for your help!

Welcome to the Team!

Price like politics is local and varies across the country.

To me that would be top price. 2K would be better.

I was thinking 2500 tops. getting to the flywheel is serious work and the body style isn't super popular.

And, aren't you gambling that the engine really will start and won't smoke or knock? $2000 sounding better with that.....
