Well my 65 Convertible is nearing completion and thought I would post some pics and share the journey.
My brief was that I wanted for all intense purposes a vehicle that looked fairly stock from the outside with a wicked stance. The engine bay had to be clean clear and decluttered, while I opted for a LS3 I didn't want the coils pacs etc to be visible, so for the untrained eye they would think this was maybe the stock engine.
The Body and chassis were separated modified and powder coated , I will post some pics to show the journey.
Lucky to start with a straight vehicle
Being in New Zealand we cant just shoot down the road to buy or exchange parts especially if wrong so I did a lot of research online and thru the forums on what works doesn't work etc as freight to our part of the world is a real cost so we had to get it right 1st time, so multiple vendors goods were collated in the US and delivered to my door.
Motor installed, transmission túnel modified, exhaust built etc then every thing was torn down and motor and body separated
Strip down ready for firewall clean up
Firewall cleaned holes filled
Chassis Powdercoated wildwood brakes and Ridetech Air ride being installed
Engine had Eddie Motorsports pulleys fitted and Holley Intake manifold , painted bright red, Its running valve cover adaptors so I can install standard SBC Valve covers
Motor meets chassis Exhaust coated and fitted all hardline plumbed
Inner fenders matched to exterior colour
