Also keep an eye open for a "P" case differential. These are posi-traction rear ends so you spin both wheels instead of only one when you get on it and have enough torque and gears. They have kits to convert your stock one, but I would definitely have a professional shop set it up for me. Setting up proper gear lashing is almost an art form.
If your looking for something other than an original rear that will bolt in you only option is a BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) rear end out of their B body cars from 1958 to 1964. They can be a little stronger and on the upscale cars they tended to check more option boxes more frequently to Posi-traction.
