64 Impala distributor hold down clamp

Hello All,

I was working on my car yesterday and noticed my distributor hold down clamp was broken. I have a suspicion it is not the original but I would like to replace it what an original or original reproduction piece. Is there anyone who can reply with a picture of what their known original clamp looks like so that I can buy something similar? I have a 327.

It should look like yours now just not broken, and definitely not chrome plated.

They are all the same on all GM engines (six cylinder, small block big block, HEI or points). So walk through the junk yard where the crew pulls engines apart to get the distributor will have a few in the scrap metal bin. Don't wait to long though as GM stopped using distributors in 1996, in cars, and 2004 in light trucks.

Otherwise you can buy a chrome plated Mr.Gasket hold down for eight dollars:
