Body question help!

Hey gents. About to purchase a 67 4 door hardtop and my first bit of work will to replace/fix the rear quarter panels. Looking online on most sites only list 2 door rear quarter panels for sale and no 4 door. Before I stress over it to much, are the body styles in the rear identical between the two? If I order a 2 door rear quarter panel for that year model will it fit a 4 door? If that’s the case I understand why they don’t have a 4 door replacement part listed, because a 2 door would work and I’m over searching for no reason. Hope I worded that right. Thanks!

I believe you can use sections of it. It will be longer, of course, but it also gets a little different up near the Trunk and C-Pillar area, if you would be buying a full quarter. I would also ask the vendor though to get their opinion, as well as other opinions on Impala sites, if no one else jumps in here.

In essence you will be using the two door rear quarter as a source for patch panels as two do not interchange. They do not make a four door quarter panel because the demand is so low it can not justify the cost of tooling. Look to the desert Southwest salvage yards for parts as they are rust free. There are several yards located in the desert with on line portals that specialize in classic cars.

If the one you are looking at is a basket case I would keep looking. There are better examples to be had if you are willing to settle for a four door.

Thanks for the info guys. The pieces I’m fixing are only about 14 inches around the bottom of the wheel wells so it’ll just be a patch job as long as the metal is not trashed under it where I can’t see. I’ll keep an eye out for those portals you mentioned. If you have links to them I’d love to have Them. Thanks again

Desert Valley Auto Parts in AZ is one of the best places to find rust-free sheet metal.
