Question 61 Impala Plug Wires

I'm putting in a stock 1977 Caprice 350 with HEI and Rams Horns Manifolds into my 61 Impala. I think I want to run the wires from the back of the motor and come up under the manifolds. I have Tall chrome valve covers and it looks like trouble coming over the top. Any one have any suggestions on what vehicle I should say I need wires for at the parts store.

A 61 was run under the manifolds. You can buy the factory wire looms for it too from most impala suppliers. They will look messy on top. Way easier to do it while the engine is out.

Aftermarket wire looms and wiring kits are available as either above or under the manifold. If running headers you just about have to go above as the heat will fry the wire insulation when running under past all of those hot pipes.

Thanks for the replies. I know they have aftermarket HEI wires from the restoration catalogs. I was just didn't want to spend $80 on plug wires if I could find some that would fit in the $25 range. I was thinking maybe late model pickup or big block wires would be long enough.
