Yes. My 409 engines ran 153 tooth flywheel (10½" clutch) because I had converted over to a 409 from a 327 and didn't want to buy more parts. The 168 tooth starter motor for a BBC is probably the correct part to use because the 348 and 409 are big blocks (Mark I to be exact). The 168 tooth flywheel is for use with an 11" clutch.
You can not mix 153 tooth with 168 tooth parts together as they will not mesh, and it results in broken parts when you try.
