trunk weather stripping channel

I have a 67 drop top and the sheetmetal where the weather stripping goes is almost completly gone, especially by the latch. looks like a hard piece to weld and fabricate. how do you guys trhink i should fix this? i would think this is a common problem. thanks

What part are you asking about, the front header piece?

Could be in the trunk or hood area as both have latches; but there is more water in the trunk generally, so I'm guessing there.

i was talking about the trunk, i also have to replace the pan there.

Best advice I can give is to find a donor car or cut out the affected piece and have a fab shop duplicate one for you.

Because of the shape in that area the 67 is a "one of" piece. I don't know if other makes can interchange. But the other area can be switched out with the 65-69 from what I can see. Good luck.

I hand made mine-About 12" total and the very center where the dip is was a real pain!
The corners were too!

that's right where I have the problem too, I have zero metal fab skills and a pro shop asked for 2k to repair. looked at a couple of donor cars and both had same issues. the search continues.
