the 3.4L impala delima

all you impala drivers out there. I purchased my 2000 3.4L impala a year ago and have not been able to find any kind of performance parts to fit my car. I would like a cold air intake kit to start out with and also any other performance modifications i can make to bosst my horsepower and conserve gas. Can any of you all help me or suggest who to go to? thanks for your time

Best upgrade for a 3.4 liter car is a TBI 5.7 liter transplant out of a pick-up. You will actually see a modest improvement in mileage if you keep your foot out of it because the small Buick V-6 is working as hard as it can to drag the 4300 pound sled around. Can't see a 350 go 5.0 liter with a 305 out of a cop car if you can find one.

A company called DHP (digitalhorsepower.com, I think) makes a pretty decent PCM reprogram....also some underdrive pullies out on the market....one is made by Fast Forward Performance (fastfwdperformance.com).

I have swapped a 3400 into my Beretta and have both the UDP and programing on it.....only good for about 5-6 hp each, but its another 10 hp.

Most of the people on this form have rear wheel drive Impala's. We have a few "Pros" that that will ask and answer questions on your front wheel drive Impala.

For folks that do want to make them faster, check out 60degreev6.com

There's actually a TON of stuff you can do with the 3400.
