Has anyone used the Anti-squeak sets for gas tanks (early 60's). Is it worth the $20? I'm replacing the original tank (which didn't have anti-squeak rubbers) and I don't remember it ever squeaking.
I guess it is a matter of what you like. The factory didn't use them and I have never heard one squeak. But they look nice if you are not concerned about being correct.
The ones I have seen from the factory were made of a course weave canvas looking material. Since it was made on cotton most of the cars on the road today don't have anything left as the cotton has long since rotted away. But I rember them when they were new (and pulling strips of rotted fabric off that was hanging down when servicing cars in the corner service staion before they all became convience stores).
