Bucket seat compatibility for 63 Impala?

Hi All,

Anyone know, will other GM seats work with my Impala? I know anything can be made to work but if I were to get seats from say a Corvair, could I simply recover the seat frame with the Impala seat covers so that they matched the rear?

I have been looking for Impala Buckets but haven't found any locally but have found several other 63, 63, 65... GM buckets for sale.

Thanks

The other marquis should bolt up but because the Chevy was the cheapest (aka entry level) it had the least trim. I don't know if you could take the chrome trim (bolsters and bottom pieces, and back covers) off a Poncho, Buick,or an Olds seat and still cover it with a Chevy seat cover. But the complete seat fits.

I have heard that Chevelle seats also interchange with proper frame rails, but there was no Chevelle in 1963

The only ones that will fit correctly especially with a pre-sewn interior kit is Buckets from a '62 to '64 Impala only.

Funny, I had been looking everywhere for a seat for my 69 Impala project and ended up buying a set of 63 front bucket seats that now I doubt I will use. Where are you from if you are local you can look at these..

This is why it is important to fill in your location when you register (you can still add an address by editing your profile). It isn't like no one knows where you live. I can see your house from space or street view if you live in the USA thanks to an APP that looks up your IP address.

Dave only admin and mods can see the IP address, but I agree a location is a good thing to list in your profile.
