1963 Biscayne

I just picked up a 1963 Biscayne in line 6. Vin # is 31111K152532, trim tag is
02D
style 63-1211 bodyKC2935
trim 860 4 paint 912A 22
ACC A01 B50
Now about me I have 5 first gen Camaro's and one 1970 and a 2002 convertible. Plus a 1968 Malibu and a 1968 El Camino SS big block. Last but not least a 1941 Ford super deluxe 5 window coupe and a 1966 Chevy II. Now I can decode all of there trim tags but this 1963 trim tag is not easy to decode. I know it was built forth week of February, it is a 1963 Biscayne and built in KC trim if Fawn ( what is the 4 after the 860) the color is silver blue but what is the A 22 and last the bottom line ACC A01 B50. There are no information on these codes that I can find.
Thanks for all the help. Weston

Welcome to the Team Weston!

The 860 decodes as Fawn interior with a cloth vinyl bench seat. The 912 is a Light Metalic Blue exterior paint job.

You are right my decode book is lacking in Accessory codes. We do have two experts on this subject (one sells window stickers if you take it all the way back to fully restored).

Thank you for the information. Just did not know what the "4" after the 860 means and the "A 22" after the paint code. Could the A stand for a vinyl top? If so what does the 22 stand for. It does not look like this car ever had a vinyl top but you never know what happened in its life time. Was a vinyl top even available?

A and B were both accessory codes back in 1958-'63. They used a two digit code for others and are all listed in my book; just not a word on what the letters decode as. I may be mistaken (usually am when working solely from memory), but I don't recall seeing a vinyl roof until 1965.

I'm on a lot of boards but not that one as I don't own a Chevelle.

I am Larger Dave on the Team Camaro board and I am a moderator here and on the Team Nova board. I moderate on two other boards dealing with drag racing and engine building but they do not generate the traffic found on the Team boards, but after this NHRA season wraps up I suspect I will get more posts when every one goes home to rebuild and experiment again.

According to my book "EZW" was the trim tag code for tinted glass for the years 1954-'63. A01 was the code for tinted glass starting 1964 through 1967. I don't have a B50 code listed for before 1964.

The book I am using has all five group level options listed for 1964-'67 but only two pages for 1950-'63, and there are very few decodes offered on those two pages, mostly just the codes listed for inclusion.

Since PhotoBucket went ad free strictly subscription to use it there has been a scramble to find another hosting site. I started a subscription years ago with PhotoBucket because I had more pictures on their server than my free account allowed, so I had to subscribe or loose all of my previous links.

Once you find a hosting site that you like you can follow these instruction to post pictures, just change where you see PhotoBucket to your choice of host.

I have a better idea! Why don't you start an account so that as your pictures pile up I won't be charged even more than I am charged now to be able to post my own pictures. Though if you want to use PhotoBucket they will gladly take your $600 for a one year subscription.

According to the book "Chevrolet SS Muscle Car Red Book" --> In 1963, B50 = "Foam rubber front seat cushion (for Biscayne only)".
Which is probably the same as "thick foam seat" ;-)
