1964 Impala SS frame off

Hello all, first post here and I would like to share the restoration done on my 64.

Trying to post using my phone, let’s see how it goes!

The first picture was taken in 2012, car was black with white interior, the original color on the cowl tag, was the Azure Aqua, with white interior and aqua carpet.

When I raised the car to change oil, I noticed a little rust on the left fender, took to a friend and we found a lot filler covering some ugly damaged spots!

Few weeks later, sent the car another state to get disassembled and sand blasted!

Second picture, car was sandblasted!

Back in 2013 the guy I hired to do the bodywork, simply quitted leaving me with a lot of parts and a non running car.

After 2-3 years I found a very skilled metal worker/fabricator who was committed to finish the car!

I have seen worse sheet metal conditions than yours. It is still recognizable as to year and makes some had only the top of the belt line left with everything below rusted away.

Your complaint about a body shop is common all the way around the world I am afraid. Taking it to a restoration house (specialist) or finding a sheet metal fabricator that makes and welds in his own patch panels is best; but hardest to find. Congrats on getting your car back on the road to recovery!

Yeah, I noticed that my box was full. Cleaned up a bit, so I should get messages now
