Wink 1960 Impala wiper motor 2 speed

Hello everyone,

I am new in this site and hope to meet some good members to share knowledge and more.
I recently bought a 1960 Impala that was going to be crush. After my 1st inspection I noticed that the
wiper motor is not the right one for that car and year. Does anyone know somebody that might have one 2 speed?

Here are some pictures to show you the conditions of the car.

Crushed ??

Who would ever want to crush a beautiful car like that ?

Original 2-Speeds are getting hard to find, but your best bet would be to find a good used core and send it out to be rebuilt. If no one jumps in with one available, you could try to call some Wiper Motor rebuliders to see what they have in stock.

By the way, they are the same '59 to '62.

Keep us posted on it.

Thanks for your input.

The guy who had this car was a Mopar guy so I took it away from him.
I convinced him to sold me the car since he was not a Chevy guy and he agree.
The car is a matching numbers everything is original. except the wiper motor.

Welcome to the Team!

Wiper motors from 1958 to 1999 shared the same three mounting bolts so almost any year will bolt up if it doesn't hit the firewall bilges or the motor hits it. That is why they have small electric motors that mount vertically or horizontally with square fabricated shells or large round permanent magnet motors that also mount vertically or horizontally. They have different linkages between the years because the windshield shape changes tor stylistic reasons every couple of years or so.

That said your car has only one part number that fits:

There is a different motor (part number) for a 1958, 1959, and a 1961-'62, and a 1963-'64. The 1965-'70 was the same as was the 1971-'76 full size cars.

Stand corrected. That was the same motor on a different mount as used on Tri-Five Chevys. They have an infinite pulse speed controller for that motor at Danchuck. So a similar controller would probably work on the 1960 motor.
