Hello i am new to the website. I am looking at a 61 impala that will need a full restoration and is a true v8 bubbletop. The are asking 10k for it' it seems to have everything just not on the car. Looks like it will need a trunk pan but thats it. Car also comes with another front end. Just not sure how rare these bubble top are. Im assuming its just a 283 auto car. But is 11k right foe this car or should j keep looking. it has all the interior in really good shape. I have a 63 ss impala and have always wanted a bubble top but they rarely come up for sale. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Welcome to the Team!

Value varies around the country. Also with the economy about to tank any hour now, you will see prices start to fall as people worry about the onrushing recession and not having money to cover rent never mind a car restoration.

I would check out back issues of auto trader (preferably the classic edition if sold in your area) for a guestimate as to price based upon condition where you live.

The Interior looks good, but I would check the underside extra good for rust. The price is higher than what I would want to pay, but these cars are rare in restore-able condition and are in demand.

I still have some Bubble Top parts left if you buy it and need anything.

The 61s don't seem to bring the money of the previous 59-60 bubble tops, when they lost the rear fins and chrome.

I don't think you are looking hard enough, in 5 minutes I found 3 in better shape that what you are looking for and cheaper, Well 2 were cheaper....they are out there..

This auction one only sold for $28k and it's pretty nice..

With some restored bubble tops barley clearing $30k a $10K base that needs almost everything is a tough sell. I'd say $4-5K as it sits maybe.
