Yep Argent silver wheel paint. When I got my car back from the body shop my front filler was painted a very nice gloss black with basecoat/clear coat paint. I proceeded to scuff up his nice paint job and spray over it with rattle can Argent Silver. But it looks great now and has a very nice base coat!
Argent Silver same as for the rally wheels used by GM.
I assume the same color was used for the painted areas on the tail light bezels ? I bought a NOS pair that have some scratches/shelf wear. Also, should the black painted areas around the tail lights and up into the trunk be flat, semi gloss or gloss black?
The paint arrived in a rail road tanker car so the amount of pigment and the gloss changed from the first tap until they pulled the draw pipe out of the car so there is no one correct shade or finish.
When you buy a rattle can buy a bunch of the same brand at the same time because every semi-gloss perfect match paint (color duplication) depends upon the sample that they matched apparently as they differ quiet a bit. (there is a formula that GM used to mix the paint that seems to be ignored in an effort to get an authentic match).
The argent will look very close to the original on your tail light bezels. Spray a very light coat.
The rear trunk panel was painted semigloss black all around the tail pan (tail light area) area and up to the trunk ruberstrip channel. The black color extended to the seam where the tail pan meets the quarter panel (under the decklid). Also the inside of the quarter panel extensions were also painted this color.
