1965 ss convertible

I am in the middle of installing a 1995 LT1/T56 combo into my Impala. I have already air bagged it , Autometer Cobalt gauges, 20" foose wheels, 4 wheel disc brakes, camaro power seats, among other upgrades. Question is, about the transmission crossmember, has anyone heard or done this?
I can't seem to find on in the aftermarket and any that I have found are for the Tremec 5 speed conversion and they can't tell me if the transmission mounting bracket will match up. I have checked with Street and Performance and they can sell me a automatic crossmember that I can mount to the insides of the framerails to adjust the position, but of course I would like to use the stock position.
Any help would be appreciated

Do you have the original crossmember? Im sure it can be moved forward or backwards or modified to work.

You've probably thought of this already but in the swaps that I've followed, I've noticed these 3 fixes for other cars.

1. Aftermarket custom X-member. (sounds like we don't have one for this swap)
2. Leave X-member bolted to tranny, drill new mounting holes on frame.
3. Cut original X-member into 3 pieces, bolt them in place, then weld/fabricate together as necessary.

I've not heard of any aftermarket X-members for the Impala.

We now have Tremec on line as a sponsor here so I am sure they will provide you with the info you need. Just forward your question to them.

I tried moving it back and forth, flipped it over and rewelded the mounting bracket. problem is that the tailstock on the T56 is lower so that crossmember hits and I need that -3 degrees for the correct pinion angle.
I ended up ordering the powerglide one and looks like it would fit.
thanks anyways
