Rear upper seat removal

Hello. I recently purchased a 63 impala convertible and I’m having trouble removing the upper part of the back seat. I removed the screws that hold down the lower braces and I’m stuck there. Any suggestions. Thanks.

After removing the lower screws pull out the bottom a bit and then lift the entire seat up. It is kept by two "hooks" on the upper part and you slide them up off of these hooks.

So is it the same as the removal for a hardtop back seat?

Ah. I apologize, I did not catch that it was a vert at first. I can't say for sure if it is the same to be honest. What happens if you try to remove it like a regular hard top? Where is it hanging up on you?

I seem to remember something with the convertible top boot cover giving me some difficulty, the boot is attached to the seat. Also I believe the seat has three hooks on the back and they are at slightly different heights making the pull out and slide up more difficult.
