hey guys, what should i use to clean the top. about 20 years ago i used armor all once and was really unhappy with the results. There must be something out there now that would work well. any feedback on this? thanks

I tried just about every cleaner available to
clean my white top after years of neglect, and
being stored outside.
Nothing seemed to really cut into the real grime.
Then I remembered a mixture of cleaners I heard were
good for cleaning up oil from concrete, and since all the ingredients
seemed harmless enough,I tried it today.
I mixed liquid laundry detergent with bleach and then added
some baking soda.
Applied liberally, swished around with an old wash
cloth, let sit a few moments ,and then scrub with a
good stiff bristle cleaning brush.
One factor that seemed to help is doing it in direct sunlight.
In the areas that were shaded, the cleaner had little effect.
Here's some before and after shots.

I had to wait till later in the day for
the sun to come around the other side.
For some reason I had better results in
direct sunlight.

I use canvas tent sealer from 3M on my rag tops. Wasn't even aware thay made a special product to seal the top.

I could see where it could really use some sort of sealer .
Every time I touched the cleaned area with dirty hands
or the dirty water got on it,the stains would set back in
and have to be scrubbed off.

It's not perfect, but better than it was.
I'm going to try and concoct some kind of
bleach/paste mix so I can keep it wet longer and see if the
sun will help whiten it up a little more.

Some one once told me to try shoe polish.
Not so sure I care for that idea though!
