The '63 Restoration, and her story..

Here's some pics and a story about "Madame Garrett" .. my 1963 Impala.

I purchased her in January 2009, after whizzing by her on the train daily to work for a few years. I'd noticed her sitting in an alley, near some construction company - wedged between some construction trailers and eventually by some act of fate, found a 'for-sale' ad listed on CraigsList.

It was the same car. Originally, the owner, who had no interest in the car really, wanted way too much money for her. A "Classic" don't you know?! Yeah..but an ailing classic, none the less, and with a bad body and an anemic 6 cylinder.

We finally agreed on $700 bucks a few months later, and I brought her home. Actually - i had her towed to my mechanic's shop - but that'll be the next story.

Note: I call her "Madame Garrett" because she was found on a local street named Garrett Road. Other people in the business's around there called her 'the old girl' .. and so she is.

$700 sounds like a real nice deal from the looks of things on top.
Glad you started a blog on the build process.
