As of 09/01/2011 - I sold my '63 to a kid who knocked on the door and said he was 'in love with it' ... 2 weeks and $4500. later - it was gone.

Fair thee well, Madame Garrett!

( i wonder what P.o.Crap I can find NEXT to diddle with?? )

Cheers, ya'll.

Another Chunka money: Interior time !

Posted 02-17-2011 at 10:45 AM by medisalle

Howdy, all. It's been a long, bleary cold winter and I haven't spent much time doing anything to the Impala other than running her through the annual state inspection which came due 01/31.

You gotta love these old cars... my friends and my mechanic always scratch their heads ... "Needed nothing" .. "just adjusted her carb again, and perhaps a new tailpipe is on the schedule - but otherwise, needed nothing" my mechanic said. LOL.

No 'modules'...

Wow. who knew? Last weekend I replaced the intake/exhaust manifold gaskets (which were original, believe it or not and crumbling apart) and while we had it off, re-built the carburetor.

WHAT a DIFFERENCE!

This whiney, tickety-tick miserable little 6-cylinder actually purrs like a kitten now, and I can't beleive how quiet it is.

It seems to have smoothed out the idle a lot, too. Not perfect - but it's TONS better. At least I can stand driving it now!

200 mile trip under her belt ..

Posted 09-20-2010 at 11:23 AM by medisalle

.. all i can say is: God, I hate this P.O.S.

LOL. I seriously need to find an engine. This car's like my 1st wife.. i WANT to love her.. I'm spending a FORTUNE trying to love her.. I just don't. And she's driving me nuts.

Ugh.

Well - she made a 200+ mile trip up to and back from the mountains, now without groaning and complaining and spewing oil constantly. This 6 has GOT to go.

What a chattery piece of crap. ~ M.
