well thats a good start!....i know alot of people are down on hf products.......but i believe if i get my project done,,,and maybe another or 2 if not more...diver quality..... then its worth it?...and if you have to modify your air or the method you spray then so be it.....after all most paint jobs are either gonna be out of the box or wet sanded anyway?..........were not talkin bout production here ....just hobbyist's and helpin others of the same?..............sh7t iam lokin into how much it would cost to have a body wrap made up to look like an old super stocked to avoid paintin anythin!...........keep up the great work......

I took a chance this time around and bought the 2k Epoxy primer from this guy: http://stores.ebay.com/TCPGlobal-AutoBodyDepot A friend had researched it and bought the paint so I figured, WTH. I see his stuff at some of the local car events and swap meets and picked it up there. It was $77/gal. (waaaay cheaper than the PPG DP90 I used on the camaro.)

So far so good, but, really, ask me again in 2-5 years and then we'll know for sure.
i purchased the 2 gun set up from HF...regular size and a smaller detail gun...purple handles....i was concerned about orifice sizes but they came w/the correct ones for epoxy primer.....and im gettin my product from tc as well.....i will wait to order after you spray color!..for the feed back...are you useing their topcoat as well? .......thanx....

earthquake68 NEVER SPRAY WITHOUT AT LEAST A CHARCOAL RESPIRATOR!!!!!!!

The materials are better than the old days, but they're STILL TOXIC! They will attack your nervous and respiratory systems over time and cause all kinds of problems.

A disposable respirator is CHEAP compared to the medical bills you will pay later.

Sorry, rant over. Let me get of this soap box now.

BA. Today my buddy spent lots of time putting down some Duraglass on the areas that we thought were too big of a ding/divot for a skim of the regular filler.
Personally, I only had about 2.5hrs of work on it today.

We did some basic sanding after the 'glas cured,.....re-touched up a couple of spots and called it a night.
We're gonna let that cure for a few days before going back and spraying a guide-coat/primer over all those area's and then seeing what's high and what's low.

earthquake68 'Took me about a minute and 30 seconds on the '67.
01-24-2010 08:33 PM
BrianJ I was hell getting the grill off my 66.
01-24-2010 05:30 PM
earthquake68 '67 is the same. I have a sharpened putty knife that works great for sliding under the grill and cutting the rivets. Then you just pop in new rivets when you're done. ....easy.
01-24-2010 03:53 PM
jayoldschool Really? Wow, I never knew. I've never had my grille off my 65 either...
01-24-2010 02:35 PM
BA. I wanted to take off that grill but the whole dange thing is originally riveted into place!

crazy I tell ya....
01-24-2010 02:23 PM
jayoldschool Looks great! You should take off that front trim/grille...

BA. Ha! I hadn't even noticed that the red 'overspray' had a torso shape and the darker spots. I'll have to ask my bud about that! He may have something he wants to tell me.

Alan - don't be fooled man, that's like the only good angle on the car. lol! we've done a lot of patching up. There's still a lot of body work to do too,

Dave - ya know, my buddy Mike was saying the same thing!

BA. She's finally got a coat of epoxy primer that she needed so badly!! Yeaa!!!
It's hard to see here but the blanket was an easy cover-up and we did tape off all edges in there.
