justjohn I installed a Milodon 30970 on my 69. Fit is perfect.

67ImpalaSSConv I used a 4 quart Classic Industries chrome pan and it works with my 454. The stock pan on the 454 did hit the cross member so I couldn't use it. I may try the bigger Moroso pan Dave mentions above.

Big Dave My Moroso pan cleared the cross-member and they claim it fits all GM car bodies. I used polyurethane motor mounts and a dropped base air cleaner because of my Dominator carb was sitting on top of a high rise Weinad intake (looked like a stock dual plane only bigger).

Roc1616 Dave also wanted to know if you used stock engine mounts with your application. Worried about air breather sitting up to high and hood not close. 454 gen 4 works fine, I’m hearing Vl 454 block is pretty much the same.

Roc1616 Thanks Dave. I don’t see us cutting out cross member. May take a stock pan and Fab it up. Option 3 I’m looking at. Dave do you know if you clear the cross member you are free of the steering linkage. The 67’s has that stalk oil pan for the 427 that was 3 tiers.

Big Dave Welcome to the Team!

All GMPP Crate BBC engines ship with a TRUCK oil pan (six quart capacity with a sump that WILL hit the front cross-member).

Options are:
1.) Cut and reinforce a hole in the front cross-member to clear the oil pan sump.
2.) Cut up and weld back together a patch to the oil pan that clears the crank and the front cross-member.
3.) Buy an aftermarket pan for a one piece rear main seall BBC (Gen V and Gen VI). I chose this option using a Moroso seven quart with kick-outs circle track oil pan rather than a pavement dragging deep sump, and a matching oil pump pick up tube to fit the pan.

Vl 454 fit into 67 Impala

I have a 454 gen 6 engine I’m putting into my 67 Impala. I heard only the gen 4 454 and stock oil pan fit in clean. Has anyone in the forum installed the Vl 454 engine in a 67 - 69 Impala? If so how did you overcome oil pan clearing the steering linkage?
