For those interested in the part #'s of the a/c brackets and for 62BillT,I think I got them. ( Some one correct me if I am wrong.) Looks like chevy used 2 different styles. One with the rear adjusting brace over the valve cover and one not over the valve cover.
Part #'s for no brace over the valve cover
3928906- mounting stud
Part #'s for the rear brace over valve cover
3872720- brace, rear
3906682- brace, front adjusting
3872726- brace, support
3872785- bracket, front
manual transmission does not use the 3872726 support brace

|bicster||Thank you all for your help. After much research I have decided to go with a sanden a/c compressor and brackets. Lighter and cleaner look. Thanks again.|

Here are the pulley numbers for the 1966-'68 375 horse 396 which has a lot of reproduction parts so you may be able to find parts a little easier:
L78 Used a deep "V" pulley to prevent throwing belts
Crank pulley 3869978
Crank extension 3906656
Water Pump pulley 1970831
Alternator pulley 3925522
Power Steering pulley 3873847
All of these pulleys have the part number stamped into the metal.
Here is the CRG information on the BBC factory pulley list for 1968 production year (short water pump).
and here is the Long water pump pulley list (1969-'04):

I've got some AC Brackets available for a Big Block, but for mostly for late '60's and '70 cars. But if you can produce some Numbers of the parts you are looking for, I'll check to see what I can find.

|bicster||My mistake in the parts description. A short water pump not a long pump.|

|bicster||Good info Dave. Here is what I did, Long water pump, used the fan and pullies from the small block also the power steering pump, purchased new big block alternator brackets and power steering brackets, new V-belts and they all line up perfectly. Wanted to keep the original look. If the alternator and power steering line up perfect I thought the an original set of a/c brackets would line up also. Thanks for the info. I will look for the part #'s. I purchased a new 4 row radiator so now my small block fan shroud is to wide and hits the power steering pully . Last night I trimmed off 3/4 inch from the shroud and it fits and looks good. I no longer need a fan shroud. I will post a picture. Thanks|

Different power steering pump pulley if car had A/C or not and a long pump which differed from the short pump (one groove PS pulley only).
If you want to search on line and buy parts by Chevy part number they are all listed on Team Camaro in the techinical section (accessories and engine were the same in the Camaro and the Nova as well as the Impala.

|bicster||Thanks Big Dave, My project I am working on is a 68 ss Impala. I removed the 327 and installed a 1972 454. I was able to reuse the crank and fan pullies. Purchased a new water pump, alternator and power steering brackets and everything fits perfect. Now need the a/c brackets. My small block brackets will not work. Yes, 1965 through 1968 BB should work.|

Big block was installed in a lot of Chevy car bodies (Camaro, and Nova in 1968, and the Chevelle and full size cars as well as the light truck from 1965-'68 (the time period that had a BBC and a short water pump). All BBC engines were made in Tonawanda, NY and they fit in all of these vehicles with or without A/C so the brackets are all the same on a short water pump.
Notice I didn't mention the Corvette. This because of the sloping hood line all of the accessories are mounted low to clear the hood and use Corvette only brackets.

68 big block a/c brackets
Hello all, Tried posting wanted add but could not get it to work. I am looking for a set of a/c brackets for my big block 68. Compressor on passenger side. Do not need the compressor just the brackets. Do any of you have any for sale or know where I can buy new? I find them new for the drivers side but not the passenger side. Also need a fan shroud for the big block. Thanks for your help.
