|dcairns||Well, an add on thermostatically controlled oil cooler would help with the pressure issue by cooling the oil directly and take away some more heat from the system in general.|

|Logan||Both. It really hasn't mattered whether I was letting it idle in park or driving down the road. The highest I've seen it go was 226 while driving. I changed the radiator and stat shortly after that.|

Using those thermostats with a few little holes drilled in them takes care of burping.
Does the temp rise when not moving? or when driving at speed? or both?

I meant it's running at low 20's while driving after it gets to 210 degrees and up. On initial start it's at 59 or so which is normal. when the coolant temp gets to about 180+ and the stat opens it's running around 40# or so. The oil pressure begins dropping very low once the temp hits 200+.
I did burp the radiator while trying to eliminate possible causes.

|67SS||Oil pressure at low 20s at idle is normal when the engine is hot. Have you tried burping the air out of the cooling system?|

Engine runs excessively hot(in my opinion)
I have a 65 Impala with a 73 or 74 350 in it. At idle it runs at 218-220 degrees. Few degrees higher after driving a while. At that point my oil pressure has dropped to the low 20's. I have a new aluminum radiator, new water pump, new 180 t-stat and have flushed the block. I also replaced my 5 blade fan with 2 electric fans which really move a lot of air through the radiator. At this point I have no idea how to get the temp back down and my oil pressure back up. Any ideas would be appreciated.
