mike_bfdr May 27 2009 got the rear end back from my friend, he had put all new bearings in the axle, now its on the frame and the brake are on.... i stared to clean up different part so when the time comes there ready to just take out of a bag and on to the car they go..... i had to get a center drag link brand new cause i sent the old one to get powder coated and when it got back it was junk, so i also decide to get all the steering band new the center drag link, and idler arm i got from Kanter (took a little bet of time but i finally got them in ) and all the tie rod ends i just got them from Kragen (i just love that place )..... the heater box has a new heater core....... the motor is just going to get all new gaskets and a clean up it doesn't need to get rebuild, (if it did i would just try to convince my mom a LS1 would be the way to go ) im going to have to get a new a/c clutch cause the old one is just a little old and had unwanted groves in it...... so in a few days the frame will be on the ground and i just got to find the right shoes for her, so many to pick from so little time......

when i was working at a sandrail shop here in riverside we used this guy & we became good friend and when it came time to powder coating i asked him how much? all he said was just bring it down it'll be worth it cause u helped me with my rail and he let me walked out of there paying about half price........ i want to say it was $900 but my mom gave him $1200 for it

mike_bfdr Feb 6 2009 ok guys time to get back on the this build, the body is coming off this week end or next week, im building the body stand and when im finish its going to be sold the frame is going to be powder coated at my buddys shop.... so if anyone else need this powder coated let me know.... then i got to find someone to the body work and paint so far we got electric seats, electric windows, & electric wing windows, am/fm radio, rear defroster, tilt column, clear front corners, hide-a-way head light, and a 3/4 beanch so when this is finish its going to be one bad *** car in my eyes

68 impala fastback, retirded frame-off

im from another forum and i can across this one and so i decided to put this build on here also............ let me know what you guys think

now that my mom has retired and has money coming out of her ears now its time to work on her 68 impala fast back we got this impala i want to say about 4 or 5 years ago from a really close friend, the car has 81952 original miles we are the 3rd owners also we got a 68 caprice also from him really cheap the impala has a 327 with 275hp nothing really special but the fact that it had the low miles and the original warranty info my mom just thought it as cool so she got it this car was just allll original and very clean for th year of it and i guess it helped that she loves the old big cars from the 60's well the caprice on the other hand was going to be the car that she really wanted to restore but later fell in love with the impala so now the impala is is going to have a make over...... the caprice HAD hide-a-way head lights, tilt column, am/fm stereo radio, rear de-froster , 3/4 bench seat, and front dick brakes stock.......... lets just say the impala now will have all of the goodies the caprice had here are some pic
