66 Impala

What do you have available for a 396 66 Impala that did not come with factory air?

Thank you in advance.

I need to order something very soon.

After a couple of weeks of my having posted, I'll pass on considering this vendor.

If you want to compare customer service, I would recommend that you look at the vendors' involvement and responses on NastyZ....

It appears that there are vendors here with little or no involvement, expecting business to drop in their lap.

Wow.

Good luck with that, guys... Not exactly the way to get me to up my membership, either.

Lifetime Gold member for Nasty Z... I don't mind contributing, and if the sponsors are in line, I'll be glad to join.

This is just odd. I have been directed elsewhere, so, off I go for now......

I don't even know if we have a sponsor that sells A/C equipment (Vintage Air is who I would buy from if I wanted an aftermarket product). But I wouldn't expect the vendors to read the boards. I'm just gratefull that they help pay the bills and I have become imune to advertising so any pop's don't bother me as much as having to pay to be a member.

If you want A/C the best bet is to buy another parts car with factory A/C and cut and paste the ducts, lines, and hardware components into your car those parts taht the factory left out of your Impala. If that is too much work, that something like the Vintage Air hang below the dash box can make your car look like it had a dealer installed A/C option (a lot of cars were upgraded that way before they were even sold in my neck of the woods).

.....or contact http://www.oldairproducts.com/catalog/ and tell them that you are a member of the impala.net forum.....tell them what you want, and ask if they have a forum discount.....they will probably gladly take care of you........

Kabous66,

How did it workout for you? Did they have anything for you car? I have a 67 and would like to do the same.

Good day!

I'm interested in this topic. Did you ever get AC?

Kabous66 04-21-2011 03:49 PM

Not yet. Will likely order in the next week or so... Just got the car back from media blast. Will keep you posted...

I'm interested in seeing what's offered also. This is what got me to join this forum.

I have a complete a/c system from a 66 that I've been thinking about installing. But before I get started installing, I'd like to see what's available. I've been debating on just keeping the car factory original without a/c.

I have nothing to lose really as I only drive the car about 1,500 miles each year anyways. If someone was to buy the car later, they'd probably love the a/c, but the trim tag wouldn't agree to such an option.

Oh, man I'm sorry. I forgot about this thread. You can see my resolution in the Project Progress forum...
