I say bad idea. Just fix the heater. It will be cheaper and better looking in the long-run. I drive my convertible all of the time. Even in the winter with the top down and heater blasting.

GM did not produce the frames in-house. They had two outside companies produce them for Chevrolet. "BUDD" is the manufacturer of the frame.
"A.O. Smith" was the other manufacturer.

Those hubcaps were a factory option from 1965 to 1969 in 14" size. There was also a 15" size available starting in 1968. By FAR my favorite hubcap!! Look around, they are available.

Just loop it through the spring and lower control arm and use a nut and bolt with washers to secure them. It doesn't need to be real tight.
