i am trying to find out how big of a stock looking steel wheel and tire i can put on my 1962 SS impala, size and backspacing and tire size.( 17" front and 18" rear or maybe just 15" all around ) with stock springs and drum brakes. i did a search but could not fine the info. i was looking for. thanks for any help you can give me.

15" is about the biggest you are going to go and have it "Stock looking" like you stated. You can run 15x8 without any issues (and wider if you get the backspacing correct).

Thanks for the reply jayoldschool .i like the stock steel wheels but would like the stock wheel a bigger size . Befor i got my 62 i saw a 62 chevy at a car show with bigger wheels and liked the way it look.
