Intake Manifold Casting "Holley"
I was told they never made a 1966 396 with a Holley intake/carb for a 1966 Impala.
Any help solving this?
I also have a Build Sheet.

The Holley cast iron intake was used on a 350 horse 396 (oval ports & hydraulic cam) the 375 horse 396 had an aluminum high rise intake manifold and a 780 cfm Holley with solid lifter cam. The Rochester QuadraJet was used on the 325 horse 396. What engine options were listed for the 1966 full size I don't know exactly but the paper work can be found on line listing the regular production options for each car.

The 427 was only offered in the full size car and the Corvette. The Rochester carb was rated at 390 horse and the Holley carb at 425 horsepower but was rarely installed in a full size due it's solid lifter cam.

If you have the build sheet you can decipher that to determine what engine came with the car.

There seems to be no site anywhere so I could decode my buildsheet.
Do you think that my '66 Impala was actually a 396/350hp car and not a 396/325hp?

I'm going to send you a PM. I can help decode some of your build sheet if you can send me a photo of it. IV is a 396/325 engine

Your engine application code (IV not 1V) says that you have a 1966 Mark IV BBC 396, rated at 325 horsepower, sitting in front of a TH400 transmission. Horsepower is relative as I doubt if it is making that much power now. The difference between the 325 horse engine and the 350 horse version was found in the cam. The carb made no difference as they were the same size (650 cfm) whether made by Holley or Rochester.
